exploring the human psyche and understanding why we do the things we do

psychologists who have studied decision making have learned that many random factors influence the choices people make. for example, you may choose a major, not because you love the subject, but because you know your parents will approve of it. the goal is to make well considered decisions despite factors that may derail your thinking.
what happens when you make important decisions quickly, without using your analytical, creative, and practical thinking skills? consider a student trying to decide whether to transfer schools. if she stays at her current school because of a good friend could say, "you can't leave me!" or transfers because she doesn't like her living situation, she may question her choice later. most likely because she didn't consider cause and effect carefully when deciding.
but i know you are wondering what i am talking about and what this has to do with anything..
right now, i can't give you the answers you are looking for. only to judge myself and the incoherent decisions that i have made, and to finally say that i might have fucked up the biggest relief so far.
what was my flaw? making decisions quickly never really worked in my favor.
so,now my heart belongs to someone that isn't sure if she wants it or not. so, while we say our goodbyes, she'll turn around and walk away from me, and i'd slip my heart in the back pocket of her bookbag.
